How to apply wall decals

Start with the surface, not the sticker

Good adhesion begins with a wall that is smooth, clean, dry and fully cured. Dust and cleaning residue can act like a release layer. Wipe gently with a lint-free cloth and allow the area to dry. If the wall was recently painted, follow the paint manufacturer's cure-time guidance before adding adhesive decor.

Texture check: light texture may work for some designs, but deep texture gives the adhesive less contact area. Test a small piece in a discreet spot and wait before committing to the full layout.

Lay out the composition first

Keep the backing on and arrange the major elements on the floor. Measure the wall and mark a quiet centerline with removable painter's tape. For scattered sets—stars, dots, butterflies or sports pieces—place the largest shapes first, then use smaller pieces to balance empty areas.

Apply without rushing

Peel a small section of backing rather than exposing the whole adhesive surface at once.
Anchor one edge lightly. Step back and check position before pressing firmly.
Smooth from the center toward the edges with clean hands or a soft cloth.
If a bubble appears, lift only as far as needed and smooth again. Do not stretch the material.

Removal and reuse are different questions

A removable decal is not automatically reusable. Material, adhesive type, age and surface condition all matter. Lift an edge carefully and pull the decal back over itself at a low angle. Move slowly. If a product is intended for one-time use, do not plan around relocating it later.

For acrylic mirror pieces

Confirm the protective film and mounting method in the exact product listing. Plan geometric spacing on the floor, use a level where straight lines matter and avoid treating decorative acrylic as a safety mirror or structural material.
